Elise M. Chatelain

Elise M. Chatelain is currently teaching sociology at the University of New Orleans. She received her Ph.D. in Cultural Studies from the University of California, Davis, with a designated emphasis in feminist theory and research.  Much of her academic work focuses on the representation of labor in popular media. Other research and teaching interests include domesticity and the family, health and disease, and youth culture as entry points for exploring the relationship between geography, subjectivity, and the production and circulation of meaning in popular culture.
